Kawana Life Baptist Church

KawanaLife: Missions

Our Mission Vision

To be a people, known by love, living by faith, with a voice of hope to a broken world and through our lives see Jesus last command our first priority.  (Matthew 28:19-20)

Our Mission Process

To actively win the lost for Christ, so they can BELONG to Him, in obedience to His great command and commission.  (Luke 10:27,  Matthew 28:19-20)

  1. We provide direct support for our missionaries by prayer, friendship, finance and practical needs, so they know they BELONG.  (Currently in PNG, Central Asia, Myanmar, Thailand and late 2008 Malawi)
  1. We provide support for our local chaplaincy work to reach children and young people in our area.  (Currently Kawana & Buddina schools, & chaplains at Mountain Creek High & Golden Beach)
  1. We encourage KawanaLife members to live what we BELIEVE through organised short term mission ministry – local/national/international – especially youth and young adults.

All of the above financed by 12% of our offerings

  1. We support other yearly outreaches:
    1. Good Friday “Crossover” offering for evangelism in Australia
    2. SAO and shoeboxes – supporting orphaned children overseas.
    3. Gideons Bible ministry.
    4. Christmas Hampers – for needy families connected to our Chaplaincy Schools.
    5. ABWA Christmas offering for poor overseas.
  1. Currently developing 2008:
    1. Young teen’s involvement in mission through “Hike for Hope”, “40 hour famine”.
    2. Children’s interest in mission through including mission segments in Sunday programs, supporting an orphan and pen pals.
    3. Giving help/direction to those members who may feel God’s call on their life – encouraging them a step at a time.
